Professor Sheng Li has received numerous national awards, including “Yangtze River Scholar” from the Department of Education, “Outstanding Youth Investigator” from the National Science Foundation in China, “Hundred Talent Project” from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, “Outstanding Young and Mid-Aged Experts in China” from the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and “Outstanding Scientists and Engineers in China” form the Department of Science and Technology.
Professor Li is an entomologist with a strong leadership in modern insect sciences in China. He made significant achievements in the field of insect development and genetics with impacted international reputation. He had 82 SCI papers published (H-index 38) and 6 patents issued. As a corresponding author or a first author, he published 51 papers in well-known journal such as Annual Review of Entomology, Autophagy, Cell Research, Development, Nature Communications, PLoS Genetics, and PNAS. He organized and leaded more than 10 national research projects during the last decade, including key projects of NSFC, 973, and 863.
Professor Li has given numerous plenary, keynote, and invited lectures in important international conferences, and chaired and organized several international meetings. He severed as an editor in 6 international journals and 2 Chinese journals. He now acts a committee member for Society of Entomology in China, the co-chair of Society of Entomology in Guangdong, and the chair of Society of Insect Development and Genetics in China.
