Dr. Jianfeng Lu is currently a full professor at the School of Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Hefei University of Technology. Dr. Lu serves as the vice president of Anhui Fisheries Society (2014-), Anhui Fisheries Association (2016-), and Anhui Turtles Industry Association (2017-). He is also the council member for the Chinese Society of Comparative Endocrinology (2013-).
Dr. Lu received his B. Agr. in freshwater fisheries (1999) and M. Sci. in hydrobiology (2002) from Shanghai Ocean University, and obtained his Ph.D in Zoology (2006) from Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After that, He worked as a lecturer (2005-2006), an associate professor (2006-2011), and a full professor (since 2012) at the School of Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Hefei University of Technology. He once worked as a Visiting Scientist (2010) at the Agricultural Science Center, University of Kentucky, USA.
Dr. Lu’s research focuses on insect and crustacean endocrinology, especially engaged in the research of reproductive physiology of red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) and Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) during the moult cycle and gonadal development. So far, he has published over 40 research papers on these and related topics. In recent years, his research interests have been extended to aquatic products processing, including precocious juvenile crab. Moreover, he has also organized, co-organized or hosted several national and international fisheries symposia and workshops.
