Dr. Jianjun Sun received his PhD from Florida State University in 2008. After post-doc training in Allan Spradling’s lab at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute/ Carnegie Institution for Science, he started his independent research as an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut in 2013. He has published multiple high-impact peer-reviewed articles in journals including eLife, Development Cell, Current Biology, PNAS, Journal of Cell Biology, PLoS Genetics, and Development. His lab works on molecular mechanism of follicle maturation/ovulation, female reproductive gland formation/function, and developing non-hormonal contraceptive medicine. His lab is currently funded by National Institute of Health and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
