Dr. Yong Zhang

Dr. Yong Zhang is a full professor of School of Life Sciences, Sun Yat-Sen University, Director of Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory for Aquatic Economic Animals. He is a Council Member of Chinese Society of Comparative Endocrinology and Aquatic Biotechnology of the Chinese Aquatic Society. Dr. Zhang graduated from Department of Biochemistry, Sun Yat-Sen University, with her B. Sci. in 1999, received her Ph.D in 2004 from School of Life Sciences, Sun Yat-Sen University. She worked as Lecturer (2004-2009), Associate Professor (2010-2014), Full Professor (2015-now) in School of Life Sciences, Sun Yat-Sen University. She once worked as Visiting Scholar of Hong Kong Chinese University in 2008 and York University in 2011. Dr. Zhang's research interests are focused on the fields of fish physiology, comparative endocrinology and molecular endocrinology of fish. particularly neuroendocrine regulation of pituitary functions in teleosts, and endocrine regulation of reproduction, growth and metabolism in teleosts.
