Dr. Qiang Lin is a researcher of Key Laboratory of Tropical Marine Bio-resources and Ecology, South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Because of his contribution to the marine biology and conservation, he was awarded an Excellent Young Scholars Award from the National Natural Science Fund. Recently, he and his group mainly focuses on the marine biology and ecology research, and especially on the ecology and evolution of seahorse and pipefish. He was the first completed the seahorse genome sequences. This work has great impacts on aquaculture, biology and conservation (ABC) of the seahorse. Some interesting works on swimming and male pregnancy of seahorse answered many key questions raised by some researchers during the past ten years. His work has been published recently in Nature, and has been highlighted by several prestigious journals. He has published more than 70 research articles in peer-reviewed journals including Nature, PNAS, Giga Science etc. He also holds 2 American invention patents and 23 Chinese invention patents.
